Kawaha Point School Graduation

Great work by all 13 whanau who graduated at Kawaha PointSchool in Rotorua. For the past 10 weeks they have been training hard on the computers that they got to take home. Thanks to Jessie who took on the role of trainer to help all concerned. Well done guys, I hope you all enjoy your journey with computers and the Internet.

Western Heights Primary - Rotorua

A big thanks to all whanau involved with last Tuesdays graduation at Western Heights Primary School in Rotorua. 
It was an awesome night and it sounds like everyone enjoyed their 20 hours of training together. 
A big thanks to the following: 
Anita - Great job and everyone enjoyed your time as trainer. 
Craig - Thanks for your support and organisation. 
Potaua - Thanks for those great words from a former pupil and now an ICT man promoting Maori ICT initiatives. 
Most of all a big "ka mau te wehi" to the whanau who participated!!! 
Great kai and sorry about the left behind keyboards and mice in Auckland.

Te Matai – Te Kura a Iwi o Tapuika Graduation at Ngati Moko Marae

Tumeke whanau! What a great graduation in the wharenui, such an awesome setting to see your tamariki support their parents. Great roll reversal seeing parents receive tohu in front of their tamariki.
Kia ora to all Tapuika whanau for putting on the day, (and the kai). Thanks to Te Ururoa Flavell for attending and his positive words of encouragement for whanau to extend their IT skills. Also the facebook wero, did anyone respond?
Big ups to Kuini for her mahi as trainer and her awhi in putting it all together.

Whakatohea Graduation

Whakatohea whanau have completed their training with a graduation at the Whakatohea Maori Trust Board in Opotiki.
Thanks to Don Titoko for carrying out the training duties over the 10 weeks of training and also Louisa Erickson from the Trust who initiated the programme and supported it all the way. But most of all a big "Kia ora" to the 19 whanau who went through the training and by the sounds of it had lots of fun.

Congratulations to Te Whanau o Ngati Rangataua.
What a wonderful evening for all those involved in holding a Computers in Homes programme at the Marae.
A big ups to all the participants who graduated and also a big thanks to Kelly and Makuini for taking up the roll of trainers.
Whanau completed the 20 hours training over two weekend wananga.

We were able to connect the Marae to broadband through the help of Whakatane's GONet WiFi network.

Three New Programmes Launch in February.

Whakatohea Maori Trust Board launch the first for 2012. 20 whanau from Opotiki have commenced training under the tutor-ledge of Don Titoki. Whanau are working towards graduating on Tuesday 24th April.


Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Te Matai have commenced training and whanau look forward to graduating in May. Waitangi, East of Te Puke is the beautiful setting for the kura and an ex classroom has been turned into a temporary whare rorohiko. Thanks to Kuini Clarke for taking on the role of tutor.









Rangataua Marae whanau start their mahi with a one day wananga at the Marae. Kelly and Makuini Hohapata are taking on the Kaiako roles. 10 whanau will be hard at mahi over the next few weekends.

Sunset Primary School - Rotorua

Sunset whanau completed their CiH programme with lots of new skills and a potential whanau community training centre at the school. Setting up a temporary ICT suite fir CiH training has shown the potential to continue using it for further whanau training.
Well done to all involved and also Whaea Willow for being organiser/trainer.

Kaingaroa Forest School - Last for 2011
